    Hi Guys

Im looking at a few small bits from wiggle and was wondering if the Muc Off Wet Lube was worth putting in the basket.
    http://www.wiggle.co.uk/muc-off-wet-lube-120ml/

Or can you suggest another oil from the site. Im a weekend cyclist on the roads with hybrid.

    Thanks

I'm sure that stuff would be fine. I picked up a bottle of each Weldtite TF2 dry and wet (Wiggle don't seem to stock it, but I bought it from a LBS for €5.99 a bottle), but I'm doubting I'll be using much of the wet one. Unless you're doing a lot of cycling in the rain, dry lube would be the cleaner choice (though might need to be reapplied more frequently). Everything I've read about wet lube is that it attracts too much dirt and makes an awful mess.

People look at me like I strangle kittens when I tell them I use 3 in 1.

There HAS to be a rule against this sort of thing.

Yeah, 3 in 1 here aswell. Whatever is at hand really, whatever I can find. I've just dug up "White Lightning Epic Ride", "Finish Line Wet Lubricant" and "TF2 Lubricant"
Just clean and oil regularly. You can "hear" your chain when it's sick........

It's better than what 98% of cyclist do, which is no lube.

I use Halfords dry lube. I dont see the need for wet lube unless you do off road riding and your chain gets very wet and mucky

was in Halfords today. Forgot to check the price but the bottle cage i wanted was twice that of wiggle.

    I use this one - http://purebikelube.com/bike-oil-150ml/

About 3 drops for the entire chain is enough, and doesn't suck up grime from the road. Might switch to dry lube when the bottle is empty, sounds like a logical choice considering I don't really ride in the rain too often.

Would WD40 be advisable for a bike chain?

    No. Not advisable.

WD40 is not a lubricant - it will evaporate over time leaving no protection at all.
It's a good cleaner for sure, to get grease and oils from a chain before doing the chain washer, and then make sure to lubricate with a proper lubrication.

WD40 will penetrate and dissolve any grease that is in a bearing, and the grease will run out more easily and any protection will be lost.

Im a 3 in 1 convert, put it on every couple of weeks and wipe off any extra. I dont use it on the race bike tho, for that I use a light oil that gets washed away by rain

also for grease I have a large rub of Castrol grease, its really thick and good for general bike stuff except probably hubs, my dad bought it for a job but i think it was around 10euro
