    I know it's a bye the way but ...
Looking at the premier league there's very few transfers between the top clubs.there seems to be a real reluctance to sell to a competitor for fear of boosting their ability to gain advantage. Rooney being a case in point.
Bar Torres to Chelsea it rarely happens. Rvp joined united as his contract was coming to an end so arsenal had to sell him.

Comparing this to Italian football all the top players seem to have played for a few of the top clubs. Pirlo being an example. Should the Italians not have the same mindset as the English clubs? I really find it baffling how many players have appeared for both Milan clubs- yet they're huge rivals.Tevez is the only one ican think of who did so at the peak of his powers in England.

I've noticed this as well. The only players that don't really get transferred are club captains (Nesta was an exception in 2002). I guess the Italians don't really care about this.
