Fixing an Old Tattoo

Is it possible to get an old, not very good, tattoo fixed up now? My wife got a blue rose on her hip when she was 15 but it wasn't done very well and she wants to get it done properly. She still likes the general design, but she wants sharper lines and a more striking colour (it looks kinda washed-out at the moment).

Also, any recommendations for where she could go in Dublin to get this done?

    Thanks.
    Lothaar

Yeah it's possible and you see shops putting fixes up all the time. The lads in Colour Works are great with colour for example, but it should be easy to find the artist you want anyway, just look through all the Dublin shop's albums on facebook and pick out the artist who's 1) coluring style and 2) roses you like.

Rachael in Wildcat has some beautiful roses in her portfolio, might be worth checking out. A friend is going to someone in Dublin Ink who has done some lovely roses too, although I can't remember the artist name!

If you go to a well-known tattoo parlour then they will most likely be using proper inks which will liven up her tattoo significantly. But if you're going to a lesser known artists don't be shy to ask what inks they use and do your research.
