    Thinking:
    CoolerMaster N-Series N200
    Corsair 430W Builder Series
    AMD A10-5800K
    MSI FM2-A75MA-P33
    Corsair 8GB (2x4GB) DDR3 1600Mhz CL9 Vengeance
    Crucial 64GB V4 SATA 3GB/s 2.5"
    WD 1TB Blue SATA 6GB/s 7200RPM 64MB 3.5"
    Samsung 24x SH-224DB

Comes to €436 with free shipping.
Will pick up Win7 off amazon or somewhere, hopefully for €50 or under.

    What ya think?

P.S Forgot a cooler, the stock AMDs are usually useless.
Maybe a Antec Kuhler H20 620 Water Cooler?

Looks decent. The cooler is overkill though. This would do the job.

I'd go for the A8 5600k as well. There is virtually no difference in performance between the 2 and it's €35 less.

A windows 7 key costs €41 on amazon.

You could put that extra money into a nice 120gb samsung 840 evo.

An overclock on the cpu, igp and ram would give significant performance gains especially in games. You could be looking at 30-40% additional performance by overclocking all 3 so it's well worth doing.

Switched the CPU for the A8 5600K and the SSD to a Samsung 840 series 120GB
    Added that cooler.
    Total now: €464.84

Just looking that motherboard is out of stock as are most FM2 boards?
That cooler is also out of stock, any ideas of an alternative?

    Cooler.

Might as well pick another FM2 board yourself.

Is there any reason it has to be off of dabs? You could probably get an fx 6300 build with a dedicated g-card (7790 1gb) from HWVS for a little over €500.

If you're sticking with the dabs build make sure it's the 840 evo and not the normal 840.

They are around the same price anyway and the evo is much faster.

He wants to use Dabs.ie as its where he has bought stuff before and never had an issues, even with returns.
Is the Evo that much faster?
The cooler dosent support FM2 sockets.

    Cheers

Ah balls, good spot. Generally any tower type cooler with direct contact heatpipes tends to be good. The selection on dab's isn't exactly great.

Maybe a 212 evo? Seems overkill though especially if you aren't overclocking.

212 evo ain't FM2 either. I'll pick something though, thanks for the info.

Think its a good idea to switch of the ram from 2x4GB to a single 8GB piece. As most boards im looking at only have two slots, so at least he could upgrade in future to 16GB if needs be?

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 10,299 ✭✭✭✭BloodBath

You could do. You will lose a little performance in the short term but at least have room to expand.

Do they have no matx boards with 4 ram slots?

Most in the price range only seem to have 2 for some reason.

Go for a single 8gb stick then. You won't lose much performance.
