problems with new digigal timer

    hi guys i got a new digital timer for the home oil heating t27hw to replace an old manual timer (it packed in)i set it up as was in the instructions.
    the problem that i am having is that it keeps the boiler running when in the off position. i have swapped wires around the live that is and it still no help it says in the instructions to connect to 1-4-7 which i did on the old timer you had
    l n 1234 with live being looped to 3 and 4 stand alone
    any body any ideas would be grateful

    Are you using the 2 zones or only 1 on the timer.
    Connect
    1-live in
    2-neutral
    3 live out to appliance zone 1
    4 link this to 1
    5
    6 live out to appliance zone 2
    7
    Link this to 1&4
    So if your using only 1 zone
    Put your live in to 1
    Put your live out to 3 connect your neutrals to 2
    And link 1-4-7

    As I said live in to 1
    Neutrals to 2
    Link 1-4 with the brown links that came with timer
    Live out to 3
    And that should do it

    so just wire it the way the original box was wired? thanks for your help

    yes just did it and that worked. did not need hot water and heating wiring connected.
