Advanced driving test in an automatic?

I was engaged in an advanced driving course in 2008. With a number of lessons down, I was made redundant. Savings had to be made quickly and Im sorry to say that course was one of the things to get the chop:(
Fast forward to now and Ive been employed for around two years, money is reasonable and Im considering picking up where I left off. Now , Im a bugger for messing with cars and am toying with the very-likely-sooner-to-happen idea of taking out the 1.6 engine and sticking in a 3.0 scrapper. (straight swap from an identical, higher spec model so NO modification needed). Its all in the future but the thing is, Its auto. And auto is the only option with these engines. Similar in the way passing your driving test in an auto, restricts you to automatic cars (I passed in a manual) Would passing the advanced test leave you with any restrictions? Or would they treat Auto and Manual equally?
