Swap front seats B6 Passat.

The front seat on my '06 Passat cripples me on a longer run, anything over 90 mins and I start to get cramps in my right leg. The SIL has a 2010 Passat CC and the front seats seem to be much better.

Before I start hunting around for second hand seats I'd like to know if I am going to run into any problems with changing the seats particularly in regards to the airbags and triggering any warning lights?

Anyone got any suggestions as to other good seats that would be a straight forward swap?

I changed the seat in my allroad a few years ago. I had the car for a few years with no issues and it suddenly started giving me back problems. I had the seat disassembled and the seat cushion replaced, but couldn't find the problem. I eventually purchased a second-hand Recaro Ergomed seat on eBay from Germany. There was an adaptor bracket to fit it to the car. The Recaro didn't have an airbag, but there is an adaptor clip that goes onto the airbag connector so the ECU thinks there is still an airbag there and keep the airbag light off.

Recaros aren't cheap. About €2k new or €1k second-hand. You could possibly look at getting a pair of Passat front sport seats for your car. Probably cheaper and a lot more adjustable.

The best seats to get would be a set from a Highline Passat. They are very similar to the CC seats. They fit straight in.

Wife had a B5 and she was wrecked with the seats too. A cheap E39 soon sorted her out. :)
