    Hi there,

On my sky account I can add HD, there is no mention of a new 12 month contract for adding this, even in the terms (that I can see) unless you take a box from them, is this the case, or do are you in a new contract for just adding HD? I know this was the case before, despite their agent telling me otherwise at the time

If you ad Hd to your package then you are stuck with it for 12 months, sky will inform you of this when you talk to them on the phone. Unless you have sports or movies it is a complete waste of money.

Its great for watching sport and as said above for anything else its not worth the extortionate rate that they charge. I have it and watching sport on standard definition is no where as good as HD but i do question why im stupid enough to be paying for the luxury of HD.

I don't watch sport. I went through the account and terms online yesterday and could see nothing about 12 months, so I added it, so looks like im stuck with it now - ordered online. I guess I can cancel the movies and entertainment extra to bring the price down next month.

You can cancel again within 30 days (cooling off period). You do have to give a months notice so you will be stuck with it for at least a month minimum. I dont think you're stuck with it unless you got it at a discounted rate which Sky have been pushing in order to snare paper into a new contract. Other than that there is no reason why you cant cancel it again.

The good news is that they only charge for the number of days you use it.

Well i'm keeping sky movies for 2 months they had get two months get 1 month free offer, and I also added sky hd myself separately. So you think i'm not in a new contract as i'm paying the full HD price? 15 euro - I hope so!

I asked on the SKY forms and someone replied saying i'm now in a new contract - mad as hell about it but I had an inkling so i've only myself to blame !

I really cant see you being caught in a new contract. As a general rule of thumb anything that you can add to your account manually (without contacting Sky directly) will not tie you to a contract.

If in doubt you could call them or log into your online account and use the live chat.

Called them yes HD does put you in a new contract - does not say it on the website. but you do have 31 day's cooling off.
