    I know that Nell made a silly comment to Tom Dunne about Mary Harney and that it resulted in action against Newstalk but does she appear on any local or national media now? I was always a great admirer of her. Another one that comes to mind is Kevin Myers. Have they retired?

    She made a "silly comment" that cost Newstalk (and not her personally) 450k euro...

    She shouldnt be let anywhere near any station unless she signs a document saying that she is personally responsible for anything she says..

    Which wouldn't be worth the paper it's written on - the radio or TV station would still have to pick up the tab if she repeated that previous stunt.

    I think these days most producers regard her as 'too hot to handle' and she's barred from getting anywhere near a live mic. on any TV or radio station so you're probably only going to see or hear her on features that are pre-recorded.

    in fairness to her, I don't think she knew that she was on-air. people like Nell/Kevin Myers attract listeners, people seem to love to hate them, but they just can't stop listening.
