Looking for some advice on quotes for renovating our bathroom. Planning to have full suite removed & replaced apart from the shower also getting tiling done on floor & repair to some leaking under existing bath. It's a small bathroom (terraced house)
Have gotten 1 quote so far - just under €4000 for full job (materials & labour) but not an itemised quote and he was looking for half cost upfront which we weren't comfortable with.
Have posted on tradesmen.ie but not getting great response. Anxious to get the job started in the next month so any advice on realistic price guide or recommendations of tradesmen from anyone who has had a similar job done would really help
    Thanks

Hi, I'm in a similar situation. We are renovating an ensuite bathroom - replacing all sanitary ware (we're swapping the shower for a bath as we have small kids & no bath currently in the house) and wall/floor tiles. We too got a quote of 4k for the entire job but that was well in excess of our budget. So we've decided to buy the materials ourselves - spent roughly 300 on tiles (including grout , trims et etc) in rightprice , 700 for all sanitary ware. Friends recommended a plumber & a tiler and we will be paying a total of 800 to them for labour. So the entire job will be done for less than 2k. Unless money is no object the only way to do a job like this is to source materials yourself & find a good plumber & tiller to come in. You pay far too high a premium to get somoene to take care of the full job.

Thanks for the advice, we are pricing materials now & getting quotes from plummers so hopefully can get the job done for a reasonable price.
