Hows it going just sold on my car and on the prowl once again for a new motor.
Bit undecided on what to buy. Looking at 1.6 Diesel Ford Focus or go back to petrol like a Audi a3 or Golf Gti . I only do about 12K a year so i am undecided.

Maybe if anyone has Ideas on what they would buy and why might maybe figure out what i want then..

    Budget is about 9K

    All suggustions welocme :D

    Assuming you are being sarcastic?

If not, then that is what is wrong with people these days. There is no other country in the world that you could buy a 535 for that price.

Yes but remember that price has the high tax built into it. If it was reasonable to tax then they wouldn't be as cheap to buy as they are in this country. Swings and roundabouts.

Back on topic. OP at your mileage I'd be going for a GTi, life is too short at that annual mileage for a diesel Focus imo.

You're destined for a lifetime of average cars in that case.

Diesel Focuses of that vintage are dodgy, I'd buy an older 530d for €6kish and pay the tax for three years!

Apologies op as I know this wont be in any way what you're after.
However, thread title is what would I buy and if I was willing to spend 9k on a car tomorrow, it'd have to be something outrageous.
Where were you a few days ago.
There was a lovely vw golf 1.9 tdi going for peanuts.

Of course she had german plates, they add 100 lb/ft of torque to any vag car :P

I think (open to correction) that the OMSP figures are taken from the initial selling price and not today's figure.

They suit the image of the car better imo. Even "non car people" who joked at me spending money on number plates really noticed the difference. Matter of opinion i guess.

OP. Golfs are for people who can't afford BMW's... Which are cars for people who have no individuality... Of course I am being a bit facetious...

However, I've never seen someone with a BMW actually make use of the rear wheel drive... Unless its 10 or more years old and was picked up dirt cheap.

    :P

Hehe I have been making more use of the rwd than most, especially with the chinese cheap ditchfinders that came with the car still on it (and being burned to shreds :P )

By making use of it, do you mean losing grip?

    Or just enjoying everyday driving?
