Haven't been there since I was a kid. Much there for young kids 2 and 4 for a few days?

The place isn't too far from being a full on halting site in recent times.

Trabolgan is grand, especially if you have young kids. I'm considering this deal, bad time of year though with the kids in school and all.

I was there a couple of years ago.Price is good for 150 but I wouldn't pay any more than that for it.

Sad that trabolgan is all Ireland has to offer in way of a holiday park.

I second that, never understood why, must be the weather. Trabolgan is grand for what it is, the big draw to me is that it's a bit more controlled than just going to a seaside town for a weekend.

Was there for a day trip
Pool had silver things floating in it
    Wasp every where
    Got stung on tongue
Had more vouchers but wouldn't go back

It was an awful dump about 2-3 years ago. Broken boards on the crazy golf, terrible food in the restaurant etc.

We were down there for a day at the beginning on the summer, they have put a couple of grand into the place since. Just barely acceptable now - it's worth the deal but I wouldn't pay more than this "deal"

I was there couple of months ago for 3 nights. Stayed in the largest house. Massively disappointment. They supposedly invested 1 million in the homes. Not a chance. Bathroom and bedrooms were crawling with ants. Staff said its quite common. Had to complain 3 times.

    rant
    Facility wise.
Pool was filthy. Wave pool wasn't on. Slides and kids section was closed.
Abseiling, Climbing & Zip Wire was €20. Go kart for €7ea. I had 3 kids with me wanting me to do it with them. Takes about 30 minutes. So nearly €100 for half an hour.
Crazy golf was covered in leaves and broken is some places. Practically unplayable.
Food is the usual crap you'd expect at these places.
There is no arcade. Its just ticket machines.
    No phone reception
    /rant

Once your down there its a money gouging exercise. Sweet FA around except for a half an hour drive.
    Overpriced dive.

The 2 best parts was heading up to Midleton for the day and going home

    Staff were great though.

Just came back from here. I'm in my early 20's and apart from the swimming pool and gym facilities there isn't a whole lot to do that won't rob you blind, that includes drinking. The only 100% free activities there are the pool and the shows. The crazy golf is a €5 deposit and it's not well maintained. The par 3 golf course is a €20 deposit for the clubs and you have to buy the balls at €5 for 3.

Pretty much everything a child would want to do costs, they call them adventure sports which covers the majority of the activities... €7 to go down a freaking rope that takes all of 30 seconds. There's the birds of prey exhibit which you pay to get into can't say I remember the price but you do get some nice photos so there's that at least. They also have indoor / outdoor pitches and equipment which I don't think is paid, and an adventure zone in there too for children.

The food is overpriced. You have 3 options, the fast food takeaway which isn't all that nice even for chipper food, then there's Jim Gallahers pub which does carvery, normal pub grub such as turkey and potatoes etc...but still at something like €9 a head it's not that nice. Then there's Sallys restaurant which are somewhere along the lines for €6 starter and €10 main for food that doesn't seem worth the price to me anyway (note I'm talking price v taste not "I wouldn't pay €10 for a main course"). Sallys also have an all you can eat chinese/indian buffet for €14 for an adult. All in all I suggest doing a shop and cooking yourself or eating out in the surrounding area if you head here. Almost forgot about costa it's basically the same price you'd pay at any costa in the country so no complaints there... I like me some coffee from time to time and don't mind paying a little bit extra for it.

However the surrounding area is great. We went on done the Spike island tour in Cobh and the Jameson tour in Middleton and that was great. English Market in Cork city too. The scenery is great too if you're into all that stuff.

When you take into account that the same break in a hotel would cost more you start to see that accommodation wise it's not that bad at all. The more in a group the more you seem to save (referring the to 9 sleep houses they have for about €700 ish). If you don't have a car you're slightly at a loss.

Again, these are all my personal views, some people may have different ones but as far as the place goes in general I wouldn't go back. As far as a place to stay while you're down in cork taking it all in it's pretty decent.

Oh they also currently have an offer for September where kids go free.

Heading out today being positive. Any other boardsies put your 'I'm a boardsie' shirt on so I can see ya.

Re price comments - being from the rural west €10 for a meal is fine, below average. Pints are advertised at €3 with the vouchers given on arrival. Sure I'll find more vouchers.
Same with the cost of the attractions, it doesn't say anywhere that these are included in the price so maybe the issue is of false expectation.

Have to say I thoroughly enjoyed it. They upgraded the accommodation for us without asking - loads of room.
The house was very clean, but basic. Costs on site were fine - we ate at Sallys & the food there was good and average prices - 7 lunches came to €63 (4 adults 3 kids). 3 pints & a bottle of bulmers in the bar was €14.40 (with vouchers which we used all weekend).
My lads had 2 karts, 2 zipwires, 1 water walker, 1 quad for €30 - all but the quad was excellent. Quad was OK. Kart track was very good.
Entertainment was OK but I hate the entertainment in all these places. Seems like the banner should read 'Shouting competition here'.
Only downer was a really poor Costa Coffee. When I say really poor, it was that bad.
Overall we all had a great time & would definitely head back.

We went down on Friday and came back Sunday as I had to work and kids were in school on Monday. Just like ch I thought it was grand. Any time we went into the show room it was too loud and too warm. Took a spin into Cobh and Cork city on Saturday and on Sunday we used the pool and the karts and water ball things. Went to Gallaghers bar for a while on Saturday night for a couple of pints and the kids had a bit of fun in the arcade. Overall, a great place to go to for a deal like that and would definately go back again. :)
