Can I link UK BT Broadband Account to Republic of Ireland Sky to get BT Sport

I understand BT Sport comes free on SKY to BT broadband subscribers in the UK.

Can I use a BT UK account to enable BT Sport on my Irish SKY account? The BT Broadband account is currently not linked to any SKY account.

I am a BT Infinity customer in the UK. As far as I am aware all I get for free is streaming of the BT Sports channels on my PC and iPad. Unless I completly missed something? There is the BT media package of phone, broaband and TV package which may give free accesss to the BT channels on Freeview. Not so sure on Sky. I have phone and broadband from BT only.

Correction. I should have called the TV package BT Vision, but you need a 'box' and 'card' activated from BT to watch this and of course be in the UK. Allthough now I think Sky Sports 1 and 2 are gone from Freeview to allow non BT Vision customers access. I will look in to Sky but somehow I dont think it will be free. I regularly get promotions from BT but never read them. Straight to the shredder. My own fault if I am missing something on Sky. You got me curious now....

Yeah you get these channels for free on SKY too so I would set that up if you have a SKY account. You need to log into your BT account and enable it on you SKY account where you'll need the viewing card number.

Will alarm bells not ring either somewhere in BT or in Sky, when they detect that the Sky Card number is an Irish one and not a UK one ? If you get this to work, let us know, because I can get access to a UK BT phone/broadband account also, but I assumed that having an Irish Sky account/card would blow it out of the water ?

As I understand it, it can't be done, because the BT Broadband and Sky Digital subscriptions must be at the same address. I stand to be proved wrong about that.

OP remember that a UK BT Sport subscription has one important restriction which an Irish one (via Setanta) does not. A UK BT Sport subscription can only be used on one TV. Setanta don't apply that restriction.
