    Hi everyone

I'm enquiring on getting a certificate in swimming. Something that just says I'm competent in water. I don't need a lifeguard cert though. Anyone have ideas on where I could get one, I'm in Dublin.

    Thanks

    John.

Not sure if these are done here, but in the UK the ASA/ISTC do distance certs up to 1500m you could ask at your local pool to see if there is anything like that available.
An alternative would be the Irish Water Safety Endurance awards which, as the name suggest, include long swims, surface diving, treading water and short under water swims. Have a look on the IWS website or ask at you pool about classes to build you up to these.
    Hope that helps.
