Hi I sold both consoles as short cash previously now have money to afford one or the other... Which would you recommend as value for money and games catalogue??

Wii u nintendoland is 260 new now and 3ds about 170 used

owning both systems i would choose the 3ds , the rapid of solid game releases is outstanding.

wii u will not be hitting its stride till 2014 so there is well more than enough time to jump on the wii u then :)

3DS deffo, but 170 too much for a used one IMO.

Depends what you want to play. Over all the 3ds wins, it's wall to wall with quality titles, but good luck getting Pikmin 3 to run on it!

How much have you budgeted for software and what are you thinking of buying?

When do you game and how big is your telly?

I am a mario, zelda and donkey kong nut...

Depending on games I could spend 240-250

What are the stand out games for 3ds now???

Depends what you want, handheld games or console games.

Either way, wait for the price drop next month before considering the wii u.

Deep breath: Mario 3D Land, Fire Emblem, Luigi's Mansion 2, Castlevania LOS, Star Fox 64, Ocarina of Time, Mario Kart 7, Mario & Luigi: Dream Team, Ghost Recon: Shadow Wars, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, and give or take a few depending on tastes, with Zelda: LttP 2 and Pokemon forthcoming (only listing exclusives and exclusive remakes btw).

Compare Wii U: NSMB U, Pikmin 3, ZombiiU, Wonderful 101, Rayman Legends (not exclusive). Forthcoming before Xmas: Wind Waker remake, Sonic Lost Worlds, Mario 3D World, Donkey Kong Country Returns 2 (but of course no one has played the final versions and we don't have reviews/customer opinions yet for any of these).

Personally, I think anyone should choose 3DS over Wii U right now, no question about it, but Wii U library is at least starting to take shape.

Should have happened already, dropped $50 in the US should be at least €50 less here, but lol gamestop so I doubt it did.

At 170 your into tablet or iPod Touch pricing. Or even a Mobile Phone to use just for gaming.

    Welcome back to the fold!
Not sure about a 3DS for a 4 year old. The 4 year old next door to me has one and I've streetpassed him 4 times now, so I'm able to send him personal messages. I'm not sure how I'd feel about that if I was his parents and I'd bothered to take the time to learn about the technology I was putting in his pocket...

Seeing as how you don't have a 3DS to check any more it's :
System Settings \ Parental Controls \ Set \ Next \ OK \ Input pin twice \ choose secret question \ Next x 3 (to enable Parental controls) and then Parental Control Settings \ Streetpass (Restrict)

Can also do this for registering friends, using eshop, the browser and turn off 3D, among other settings
