Hi im thinking of changing the wife's car she is happy with it but i would like to change it a few questions how much do you think it is worth and what would be a better car to get.

She has a 02 volvo s40 1.9 diesel with 250,000 miles on it 6 months nct still on it drives great nothing wrong with it just serviced.

The car does 700 miles plus a week so need something with good mpg i would like an estate for the space when needed but will an estate give back good mpg ?

Was thinking of selling the volvo and put a little toward something else.

If she likes it let her keep it , what difference does it make to you? Rocking the boat for no reason wont get you anywhere!

I only want her to change it to get an estate so i can pick up a pool table lol and was hoping to pick up something different that gives better mpg with the the amount of miles it is doing.

The other option is to just keep driving it on till it dies.

Like any new second hand car you could be buying someone else's trouble. Unless there is an urgent need for an estate or the existing car is putting a hole in your wallet then I'd drive it into the ground.

You need a trailer, not an estate.

The car is worthless in terms of selling it. If it has 6 months until it will cost you any money, at least wait until then.

All of the above is good advice. Tidy up your car a bit if it needs doing. Hire a van for the pool table and save your pennies.
