Deferring a TP..

Longshot, I know but hopefully someone may have some insight.

So, I'm thinking about deferring my 2nd last teaching practice, due to family/home issues. I know I'm nowhere in the mindset to teach a class, and I'll only let myself/college/school/kids down.

I know I can defer, and push every TP back one, meaning I finish next September instead. I'll still graduate at same time, but haven't a clue what happens with possibly applying for jobs next year, and the probationary period.

I know in the case of a friend who deferred her final TP (March TP 5) it meant she graduated a year later. However, she got plenty of subbing to keep her going for the year.

As far as I know, it'll mean you won't be fully registered with the Teaching Council until they receive your grades. Some jobs require Teaching Council Registration in the application criteria but I can't say whether or not it will affect your chances of getting a job.

You can't teach until you have your degree and Teaching Council registration.
