    http://shop.lenovo.com/ie/en/tablets/ideatab/s-series/s6000/

10.1" IPS display with 10-point multitouch, 16GB internal storage with MicroSD card slot (up to 64GB extra storage space), Quad Core 1.2GHs, Bluetooth. Android 4.2.

€229.99 for a branded 10" tablet with 16GB storage and Quad core processor seems a great deal .

I would define a bargain as a price which is less than what an item or service is worth, rather than a price which is lower than normal.

I would define a bargain as a price which is less than what an item or service is worth, rather than a price which is lower than normal.
then it would be a decently priced item and not a bargain, a bargain is something that is priced below its normal price by a significant margin, so if it was E150 it would be a bargain, but if its retailing for around E229 normally, then its not a bargain,

That's your defination. Others have theirs.

    noun
1an agreement between two or more people or groups as to what each will do for the other:
bargains between political parties supporting the government
2a thing bought or offered for sale much more cheaply than is usual or expected:
the table was a real bargain
    [as modifier]:
    a bargain price of 99p

well when i personally some to bargain alert i expect to find item that are on sale at a reduced price from the normal, not an item i have looked at a month ago that is now the EXACT same price

I think that this is a bargain price for a well spec'ed, 10 inch, jelly been tablet from a recognised, respected manufacturer.

I would certainly be interested in picking one up at this price only I'm not in the market for a 10 inch tablet at the moment.

Just because there has been no reduction in the initial price shouldn't mean that it's not a bargain. (excuse the double negative... or is it a triple negative?)

By your logic if Ford launched a well spec'ed, mid-ranged car in the morning for €5,000 that wouldn't be a bargain however if they launched it for €50,000 and a month later reduced it to €40,000 then it would??

Apologies to all if I went off topic and for using a definition. I thought it was the fastest and easiest way to clarify what a bargain is.

Thanks OP for post. If you find any similar deals for a 8 inch tablet let me know. I am in the market for one of those. :)

Lookit- its a damn good price for a 10" tablet.
Its not reduced- or a misprice- or at this price through some accident or misfortune- its the company selling a good product at a reasonable price.
Why does it matter that its not at a reduced price- would you rather they hiked the price for a few weeks- and then brought it down again- would that make you happy?
If you look for a comparable product of comparable quality, from almost any other major manufacturer- or even directly using alibaba or one of the Chinese sites- it will cost you more than this. Why is this so hard to accept.

This thread has been pretty much destroyed with this nit picking.

    Sorry OP.

hi folks, sorry if some of you are displeased that this is not strictly your definition of a bargain.

For those of you who are simply looking for a well specced 10" tablet by a trustworthy manufacturer

at a price that beats almost all the generic chinese ones, this will save you some searching time.

    Any decent reviews of it

I also looked at these tablets before deciding on the Lenovo.

The SAMSUNG P5110 Galaxy Tab 2 16 GB from Pixmania has similar specs in storage, RAM and resolution except it has a Dual-core 1 GHz Cortex-A9 CPU as compared to the Quad core, 1200 MHz, ARM Cortex-A7 on the S6000.
    The Samsung is €289.

The Toshiba AT300SE 101 from Elara.ie also has similar specs except it has a NVIDIA Tegra 3 1.3Ghz( Quad-Core ) CPU and is €319.55

The fact that there are 2 Lenovo laptops in our house which are faultless helped sway my decision, however I will give an honest review when it arrives and I get a day or 2 to try it out.

If you are a groupscheme member you can get 15% off lenovo products by enetering the appropriate e code
Then it would be a bargain!!

almost went for this - but when you go to buy accessories, there is no option to purchase the keyboard dock - deal breaker for me!

Get it on Amazon or Ebay e.g. : http://www.amazon.com/S6000-Bluetooth-Keyboard-Cover-US/dp/B00D69R50K/ref=pd_sim_pc_4

    You can get it elsewhere.
