A friend of mine has been accepted into d.c.u through the h.e.a.r scheme. He was told to attend the campus from the 3rd - 6th September for the h.e.a.r scheme.

I was just wondering do the d.a.r.e candidates also have to attend or do we have to attend a separate date. I've tried calling the university but no one seems to be there at the moment. I've also sent e-mails but still haven't got a reply yet.

Try again. The DCU registry is open and there are people working there every day, I assure you. They are usually good with emails too - perhaps you were emailing to the wrong department?
