Driving without insurance?

Completely forgot my insurance policy was due for renewal on the 26th. Have been driving on the motorways without insurance and only have my learner's permit (which incidentally was at home in the wardrobe). Can the speeding cameras catch your profile as you drive past or just the reg? I was doing 145 at some points.…

Speeding cameras are linked to a face recongition database that test centres scan your learners license through before you are allowed out to take your test. I think they ignore breaking the speed limit up to 135kph
