    Hi,

    Quick question:

If you got a decent deal on a secondhand bike, would you ride it if it had the team Discovery Channel paint job on it? ie the whole Lance association..

Yeah of course, I would have no problem with it. A good bike's a good bike, never mind the fashion police. It's not a particularly obtrusive paintjob anyway, very few people would notice the discovery channel logo. I'd happily wear a Discovery Channel full kit if it was cheap enough.

Plus, it's a good channel :pac:

The logo's on the seat tube, so the chances are that your legs will be covering it most of the time. Definitely try and use it to your advantage when haggling with the seller though :pac:

    Hear that?

That, lancefans, is the sound of us quietly judging you.

No, I would not buy it.

I think it is right that the original owner holds on to it as a souvenir of something they once loved, but which now brings only sadness and pain.

Would most cyclists who see it recognise it as a lance bike?

Its ok op, buy it and ride it happily, it might hurt at first but you will persevere. But remember this

A boo is a lot louder than a cheer. If you have 10 people cheering and one person booing, all you hear is the booing.

Maybe best to put in your earphones when riding it!

Not most, no. Fussy ones would, and we're a very, very fussy bunch. But only real jerks would actually say something in real life about your bike.

I think the un-written rule of cycling really should be don't insult anyone's bike, ever.

Sure they can't be given away!

OP - the fact that you're asking sort of answers it. Walk away now!

If definitely wouldn't bother me. I'd probably not wear the jersey and shorts though!

Sorry lads - never a fan of LA even in the earlier years.

A work colleague was telling me that he arrived at a group spin a few years ago in DC gear and was made feel like an outcast. :D

What the op did with his birds sister is entirely his own business..........but what he rides on a Sunday morning might have consequences!

    Sorry.......was thinking of jerry springer!!

No, I wouldn't buy it, tbh. It deserves to be consigned to history IMO, it reeks of dark times that we don't need to be reminded about. Tough break on the seller, though

I'd be much more worried about the stem angle than the paint job!
