Hi guys, an Uncle of mine has a really old panel at home. It's situated up stairs in his hot press at top of the stairs. He wants to alarm his garage which would mean running a cable and would be about a 40 metre run. Is that too long a run?

No problem problem at all. 40m is nothing, I thought you were going to say a few hundred meters.

As with most DC electrical devices under 100m is fine.

Thanks, he wants a sensor on the door and could he have a PIR in there as well? Does each sensor or PIR need a seperate cable? Thanks

No , but the PiR should be on its own zone.
