urgent..bmw 320 or 520

    Need to buy a car over next few days...options are bmw 520 diesel or bmw 320 diesel...2006 to 2008 are years I will be choosing from. Which will do better mpg...little town driving...thanks

    The x20d engine changed during the years you mention. The newer engine is more frugal and a much sweeter drive - but... something about a chain...

    3 Series will be better on fuel simply because it is smaller and lighter than the 5 Series. 5 Series is still very good on fuel for it's class though. I had a 3 Series but if there isn't much difference in price between the two you are choosing I'd go 5 Series as long as it had decent spec.
