    Hi

Just looking for some advice please.

I have a 04 Peugeot 407 and the only key i have for it is cracked. It still works with tape on it, keeping it together but i need to get a new key.

Is there anywhere i can get a key cut cheap enough?

I know the keys need to be programmed but can they use the internals from the old key in the new one?

Any advice at all on where i could get it done and cheaply would be great.

    Regards

    Pistol

If you're in or around Dublin, try autokey on the Naas Rd.

I'd guess he's in the dublin area.
If not, he would have asked for someone in his locality......;)
OP, is the actual metal cracked or just the plastic housing?
Is it the key fob with the lock/unlock buttons, or the 'spare' key ?
(A)If it's the original key (complete with buttons) you should be able to pick one up on Ebay and transfer all your bits to the replacement housing. Or if you feel you don't want to do this yourself.....
(B)If everything still works (and the car starts) then you don't really need anything coded, it should be just a matter of geting a key cut and adding your original internals to the the new fob.
Now all you have to do is find a locksmith who will do this and not try to sell you a complete new coded key.
Just ring around, one of them will do it.

A new remote fob/key from Peugeot costs around €130-150 + transponder code + programming in....which would cost around €200-230 in total.

As above you could pick up a new fob housing/blank blade from ebay,
transfer the circuit board/chip over...you could all swap over your original blade but sometimes fileing maybe required...:)
