Derry Waterside Half Marathon

Anyone have any info on this or done it before?

I ran it a few years back, so don't know if the course has changed much. It was very well-organised at registration, start and finish. Tea and sandwiches were provided in hall afterwards.

Course started and ended in college grounds, next to playing fields, with ample space to warm up beforehand. Out and back course, which was largely flat. The middle section, near turn-around point, meandered through a drab (aren't they all?) industrial estate for approx 3 miles. The course was very exposed to elements and no support, as it went along main roads and industrial estate. The year I ran it, there was a fierce headwind on the way back for all of 5 miles, so trick was to go out hard and bank as much time in first 5 miles.

I signed up for it since I'm from Derry originally and it fits neatly into my marathon training schedule. It's annoying that they don't post the route on their website but afaik it goes out the road towards the airport and back again. I'll be taking it easy and using my time as a marker for the half in Phoenix Park later in the month.

I think the route is same as last year
