I know I'm in the wrong forum here but I was looking around and couldn't find anywhere else that made sense to put it, so this is the closest I could find.

I'm looking to know if any of you know where sells K'Nex in Dublin? Looking for a decent set as a birthday present but if I look in Smiths or Argos all they have is small cheap ones that the recipient wouldn't get much use out of, besides buying online I can't really find anywhere in Dublin I could buy this? Any Lego heads have any suggestions?

On second thoughts maybe Lego is the way forward... Pretty much I'm looking for a really good set of something (Meccano, Lego, K'Nex) that will challenge my little brother, he's 15 and absolutely loves Lego, he has a police station set and a house set and a couple of other small ones but he's a whizz with them, makes his own little projects from them all the time.

Are there any really challenging Lego sets out there?

challenging tends to equal big, which tends to imply expensive...

I'd suggest something Technic myself - these ones from Smyths have some discounts at the moment.....

Oh brilliant Paddy thanks very much!! I wasn't aware Lego made anything like that.. That stuff is exactly what I was looking for. This is doubling as a Birthday present and Junior Cert results present so I don't mind spending a bit on it, especially when I know he'll get a tonne of use out of something like this. Thanks very much for that Paddy spot on for what I was looking for

Sorry just one more question... As a general rule would the Technic stuff be hard to put together? Don't want to give him something he'll have finished in an hour

The build time for large technic sets tends to long enough. The reviews on the web (just google the model numbers) suggest 3-4 hours for the JCB and 5-7 hours for the 4x4.
