    Hi there,

We are thinking of going for a new front door with allirelanddoors.ie their website is great and they've been very helpful in giving us a very competitive quote. Has anyone else gone with these before or had any experience with them?

    What composite door exactly?

    What price?

Theres lots on the market and some are inferior to others

It's €1,995 for a 70mm thick door it's supposed to be the highest spec one with two side panels, clear glass , 1400mm wide in total.
I've shopped around and gotten quotes for the same spec and this one comes in at least 500 euro cheaper than any other I've found so just wondering if any one else has any experience with them.

Theres a fair few companies doing Profile Developments 70mm Paladio composite doors supplied and fitted for 1000-1100 euro.

That doesnt include the 2 glass side panels though....so cant say whether the price above is a good one or not.

Can I suggest that you get opaque/frosted/obscure/stained glass panels.

Do you want anyone and everyone being able to look right into your property and see whats inside???;)

I had a glazier friend of mine custom make me tripple glazed stained glass windows for my house.

Thanks paddy, yeah I've done quite a bit of research on price and am confident that this is the best price I can find for what I'm looking for so I'm not to concerned about checking if the price is decent or not I'm just really looking to see if anybody has used allirelanddoors before and can they recommend them or not.

As regards glass I'm not a fan of stained or obscure glass, the side panels are very narrow and my house is not overlooked. I love the light that the clear glass will bring into the hall, and if I ever feel the need to make them more obscure I can use the self adhesive opaque film which makes it easy for me to chop and change the glazing style as it suits.

Ah no problems, sounds like a good price then.:)

I was refering to security reasons aswell, with regards strangers calling to the door/porch and being able so peek inside,if no one is at home.;)

The stained glass windows I had made are a modern comtrmp style with pieces of opaque and clear glass cut and added in.

I get a lovely prizim effect (rainbow style light) from the light comming through the stained glass.

There is still small strips of clear glass in the panes, but they are installed/positioned in such a way so that you cannot actually see in fully, when trying to look in from the outside.

Id also change out the door lock for an anti snap/anti bump door lock aswell.;)

    Best Regards.:)

I got a quote from Leinster windows for €2200 for two side panels and whole hall door composite too red fitted!!

I was going to go with allirelanddoors too, I still haven't decided yet. However, I was told by someone else that they mmake their own frames which aren't the same frames the composite door manufacturers use which could cause problems?? Not sure how true this is though, but I dont want to spend that money then find that the door isnt as good because of bad fitting! Still shopping/researching!!

The company I am going with I think is the compositedoorsystems.com ... €2000 for supply, fitting and then removal of old door. The guy that came to our house - Tony - seems lovely and very professional, he gave great advice. Hopefully now it will all work out. If anyone has used this company before can they let me know how they got on?

I haven't heard of these before but that sounds like a good quote, have you asked to see examples of their work or do they have a showroom?

I haven't done anything more on ordering a door yet i've been waiting for a bit more info on the company and cant find many reviews which worries me. It will be great to hear how you get on with these if you go ahead with them.

Hi Brop, just wondering if you went ahead with your door from All Ireland doors, I have a quote from them at the moment for a replacement front and back door, and like you I am a bit worried by the lack of reviews of their work. Any information about the company you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks

    Hi Fendy,

In the end I went with a different company mainly due to the fact that they don't have somewhere I can see an example but also because I found a supplier that did exactly what I wanted which was a knob on the front instead of a handle. The company I went with is McMullen o donnell and they were extremly competitive price of 2100 and believe me I shopped around , that was for a 70mm thick composite with high performance double glazing. I am delighted with end result and out house is much warmer now too. I've attached a picture for you

Just got mine fitted today with allirelanddoors.ie, great job fitting in Dublin and the price was far superior to the competition for the same Palladio door that the competition were 20%-60% dearer.
