I used irish ferries sail-rail to uk and didn't bother with the tickets afterwards. can i use booking as proof of travel even though i booked in advance and submit this to welfare officer?
i feel that might not prove the actual date of travel.
Can they check with Irish ferries for the date?
    Thxs.

Since when have welfare started paying for travel to the UK. If you have a travel pass they won't pay for it.

@Jamie2k9 - the proof is not for paying for travel, they want to establish date of travel out of the country.

    Why do they need proof?

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.

    Why do they need proof?

They sometimes ask for proof if you apply to say you are going on holidays or if you are not available to sign-on.
