    Hi,

Considering using this dress for bridesmaids dresses; http://www.dessy.com/dresses/twist-long/

Has anybody else worn it or seen anyone wearing it? If so, what are your opions about it? (it's hard to get many pics of actual people wearing it onlins - as opposed to the amazing lookng models!!)

Is it flattering? Is the material good quality? Would you recommend it?

    thanks! :-)

are they very slim? unlined soft jersey sounds veeeeery clingy and unflattering

I havnt actually seen them thats the thing... you have to order them online... from some of the pics I have seen online they dont look flattering at all, but then others are. That's why i'm just wondering if anyone has worn them themselves...

I'm not going to post a link because it would be mean but I've seen wedding photos on a photographers facebook page where the bridesmaids were wearing a version of that dress (although the material was a bit shiny rather than matte) and it was *not* good. So unflattering & on 3 different body types. If you want a look let me know & I'll pm you. Not being able to wear a bra because they're nearly entirely backless seemed to be an issue

I've seen other versions of that dress in the same material and it's a dreadfully unforgiving material. Another issue is that a lot of your back is on show in almost all the styles so unless you have a toned back it's unflattering. Like MissFlitworth I've seen photos of weddings where the bridesmaids are wearing those dresses and they don't look great.

Do any of the Dessy stockists in Ireland have a sample in stock that you could try?

I'm wearing a dark purple one for friends wedding in October. Being a bridesmaid.

Suits me well anyway. I am a size 8 though and quite tall. And I don't really need to wear a bra..

I have never seen them on any other body-shapes other than slim people really to be honest! A girl I know wore a light pink one for her sisters wedding and she looked amazing in it! She is very slim but has lots of boobage so must have worn a bra..I can pm you a picture if you want! I have no pictures of me in it yet.

The short one is a lot less flattering than the longer one.

They can be tied different ways to suit different shapes!

Amity in Cork sells them. Surely there are other stockists in the country if you're not near Cork!

There is a Dessy shop in Ardee, Co Louth, I'm sure if you contacted them they would have samples, or you could even go and view the dresses.

I have a dress like that in purple, I bought it from Coco boutique behind The Westbury in Dublin. I'm a size 10 with a small chest, and managed to wear it without a bra but I had nipple covers because, well, I was wearing it to a church wedding :pac:

I think it's lovely, and very flattering. The elasticated band was even slightly too loose on me, and I'm not a small size 10! I think it could be worth going into Coco if you're in Dublin and just seeing how they fit.

I wore a similar dress to a hunt ball and like what most other people are saying, you need to be quite slim to wear it. You can't wear a bra really.
