Forward Helix Piercing...

I got my forward helix pierced almost 3 months ago. I’ve followed the advice of the piercer but it’s still very uncomfortable. I can’t sleep on it and despite following the piercer’s instructions it’s still not healed. During a haircut last week, my hairdresser knocked of it very hard and since then it’s been painful. There are no crusties but the area is a bit red and uncomfortable.

Has anyone with this piercing experienced similar issues? And if so how long did it take to heal/how long till you could sleep on it?

Note..I haven’t changed the piercing since I got it pierced.

Cartilage piercings can take up to a year to heal properly, and even at that can get irritated and 'angry' quite easily if you're run down or if they get a knock.

Yep, that all sounds normal. Just be careful with it and try not to touch it and you'll be fine :)

Just continue on with the aftercare and like damo said cartilage can take up to a year to heal.

My anti-tragus still sometimes gets a bit irritated nearly 2 years later.
