I have a large stainless steel extractor fan over a cooker and it goes straight up through the roof.It is a flat roof and in the winter sometimes in the mornings there will be a pool of water sitting on the hop.

At first i taught it was rain getting in but it does not happen during the summer so i am thinking it is condensation or something along thoese lines. Would anyone have any solutions?

    Do you have any pics?
It could be a temp difference from outside to inside causing condensation on the stainless steel which would be more pronounced during winter months.

Sorry no pictures at the moment it is in a house that is rented out. The stainless steel is all inside. Just the plastic pipe goes trough the ceiling and outside.

You know what they say about a flat roof:
    Flat roof = Leaks.
