Just fishing for ideas on boxing in a boiler in the sitting room. I will be building something like a floor to ceiling kitchen unit. Obviously I have to leave airflow around as per manufacturers specs but has anyone done this well?

I want it to blend in without looking too kitcheny. Im thinking some sort of cherry gables with solid cherry door and shelving underneath.

    Any Ideas and pictures welcome;)

Instead of a big door unit, you could cut wood logs very short (2 inches), attach to a piece of ply and make it look like a log rack?

This is what we did in the dining room. Boiler/hot press is in the left hand unit.

Not really the look im going for, although this would look well in the right themed house (borderline treehugger). Im into rustic and endgrain but havnt the house to implement those plans unfortunately.

The house is new contemp feel to it but I want to meet halfway between the two

Again, this is very close to my kitchen and I want to avoid white and bring a subtle warm wood to it while staying contemp. Its a tricky 1 and theres a million different things I could do. Im finding it difficult to be able to camouflage the would be unit into a sitting room unit. I dont want it to be the first thig you see when walking in but do want a feature. i appreciate the photo and its a great transformation between kitchen and dining room but im stuck at transform to sitting room. Cheers

I use to these daily..we use to do a shelve unit at the bottom and obv the boiler on top..have you ever seen them wardrobe doors where it's solid on the bottom and mirror on top3/4..instead of the mirror you put in a mesh(mdf) or metal decorative stuff, plenty of airing and looks well.
