I am getting back to education allowance but until 9th Sept they say I am not entitled to payment due to shortage of stamps

I know I only have 12 from late last year but isnt this year then taken into account? I worked 21 weeks this year and all but two were A0 contributions.

How come this isnt showing on their system?

Its not a shortage of stamps its just that your benefit will exhaust. When your benefit exhausts you may requalify if you have paid 13 A contributions since day 156 of your JB claim but the amount you will be paid will go on your average weekly earnings for 2011. If you do not requalify you can apply for jobseekers allowance which is a means tested payment.

Thanks for replying. In fact I now remember that it ran out just before college last year. But i have the 13 contributions since but im not sure if that will work out. The original claim is two ears old or so

You may need to do the means test for jobseekers allowance. You really need to call into your local office and find out exactly what is happening.
