    Hi all,

Getting rid of runflats and looking for advice on getting a spare. The car is 2007 and has the well for the spare.

    Options at the moment are:

    - Get a BMW alloy from a breakers. Only problem will be spare will be too wide for the spare tyre well

    - Space Saving spare - not cheap - about €270 on eBay (unless anybody knows of somewhere cheaper??)

-Wing it on Tyreweld and Breakdown assist?

    Keith

how about a space saver from a scrap yard, and tyre weld as a back up, and if all else fails break down assist.

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

Bought an E60 2 weeks ago (not on runflats) and for the moment I'm winging it on:

    1. Can of tyre weld
    2. Air compressor that works of 12V cigarette socket
    3. Tow away service that is free with my comprehensive insurance

I can't remember the last time I had to change my own wheel by the side of the road. Must have been many years ago. But hey, that will probably happen to me tomorrow :D

Got rid of runflats on E60 10 months ago. Put in air compressor (€30), tyre weld (€10) and insurance covers breakdown assist.

At the moment no intention of adding space saver. Know 2 other folk who have done the same also.
