Possible stress fracture?

I started training 3 weeks ago and a few days ago I ran on the threadmill for the first time. afterwards I had this pain in my foot just above my third and forth toes. It hurts when I walk,I went to the gym yesterday and just walked but had to stop because the pain was getting worse and it was quite sore. It also hurts to press on the bones but there is no swelling, maybe a small bit of bruising. the pain is manageable but it IS painful and annoying and seems to be getting no better. Any ideas if it could be a fracture?
    Thanks.

Could very well be a "march fracture" or a stress fracture. First step is to reduce weight bearing and see your GP.
