Springer going away too long

I have a one year old Springer bitch and have manners on her for the most part.
She'll come back to the whistle, sit, stay and heel (most of the time, see below!). She retrieves well, but just for fun still.

When I take her out for a walk, she works cover well (I am not a shooter / hunter, just love the fun of her working around me!)

She has started going away for too long - about 10 minutes, and I think she is going too far away from me. I want her to stay within about 150 meters to 200 meters. When she is in cover, I cannot see her.
Also, when she gets on a scent, there is nothing I can do to stop her going.
Any advice? Whistle, shouting and commands don't register, she is too excited and just goes.

    Is she for sale? ;)
Very hard to let a dog go 100+ meters & expect it not to go further & ESP on scent or in cover. Mixed messages.
Train her to stay closer where she should be.

Yeah - how do I do that?

Easy if she recalls - let her go the desired distance say 30 yards & call her back. Consistently with no extra distance. She'll soon learn her distance. 1 allowed misdemeanor could set you back so be consistent.
Could go down the road of leads, collars etc but you shouldn't have to

Thank you for the advice. I will give it a go this evening and get her back to staying a close distance again.

Teach her to quater , buy sending her out left and right , this way she is still getting the excersise and the distance she was doing but suddenly she 30 yard to the right and 30 yards to the left .

You'll get a YouTube video on quartering

Good advice. She's not lacking exercise - but am worried she'll get in to trouble if she strays too far. She's a 'hoar' to go!
