not much good for me, they don't have my size

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 51,360 ✭✭✭✭bazz26

Whoever their website designer is, should be taken out and flogged.

All they have in my size is Hankook, Michelin and lots of Chinese ditch finders.

nothing in my size either despite every single other online retailer i could find in both ireland and internationally ALL having them in stock.

pro-tip for anyone calling themselves "tyrebroker.ie" you need to be able to supply people with tyres ffs. bunch of fecking amateurs.

I think the OP needs to explain if they have a business interest in www.tyrebroker.ie as it seems like a pretty poor recommendation to post here otherwise.

I doubt it. Over 50% of his posts are on the Golf Forum ( the 'game', not the car) and it's his 1st post concerning tyres.

ps. After checking out their site they do offer free fitting (if you live in or around dublin) in Finglas, so if you do find tyres at a decent price at least you don't have to go searching for somebody to fit them.

For what its worth, they only deliver to their "selected fitter" which is a single garage in Dublin, and both websites come back to the same name.

Ya it is just an online sales outlet for a tyre shop.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 13,016 ✭✭✭✭vibe666

so not much of a broker then at all.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 81,220 ✭✭✭✭biko

It has been mentioned once or twice before. Only caters for Dublin.
Tyrebroker is a second front for www.campbellsgarage.ie
That said Campbells garage has a good rep.

So, basically... the end user is doing the stock ordering for the garage. What a load of carp. None of the benefits of ordering online. You still have to wait, still have a sh!t selection, and still have the same prices.

137 euro for Hankook for my A4, 155 with discount tyres

Site has nothing to do with me but I live nearby!

EUR161 for Pirelli P6000 225/55/R16. That's actually not bad for those - pity I don't use them anymore because they're too bloody expensive! :D

I wonder which sells better for them?

Purchased a Hankook online and I was called the next day to say it was ready, I popped around and got it fitted - saving of 17 euro for 1 tyre, I will be using them again but they seem to have only a limited amount of tyres.

has anyone heard of some of the tyres on that site ?

I certainly wouldn't put bad quality tyres on my car risking my life and the lives of others on the road.

They are not even much cheaper than a decent set of firestones.

Put on cheap tyres and you'll know if you go around a bend in the wet or roundabout how bad they can be. Put your foot on the break and the best abs won't stop you smashing into something with crap tyres !

Hankook is a good Tyre, so YES !

Yes hankook are good, but that site isn't cheaper than I can see from airtyres ?

    You mean eiretyres?

DO eiretyres fit for free? I believe not!

My Hankooks are 15 euro more expensive on eiretyres also.

you are sounding awfully involved with this tyre site all of a sudden.

The are a front for a garage so fitting being included is only really a bonus if you live within reasonable distance of this Campbells garage.I also don't know this garage so don't know how they will handle my wheels when removing and fitting tyres.

I search for my size 225/40/18 probably one of the most popular 'big' sizes around and the choices were cat triangle,curbstone,rapid,federal,kingstar.... sad thing is these will probably fly out the door. The only premium brand ones the had wouldn't even be the performance tyre of choice from that company.

Wish them the best but they will need to refine their approach a bit. For now i'll stick with my preferred supplier Discount tyres.

  • Registered Users, Registered Users 2 Posts: 379 ✭✭Someday

I have nothing to do with the site, I received a good service but people continue to Knock them, they have limited stock but I like the handkook tyres and they have them! Discount tyres are good though and I got a number of job done with them on both cars.

If your saving 18 euro tyre people will travel for that!

Federal 595's were the worst tyre I ever used in terms of grip, roadnoise and the way they wear. Wouldn't recommend to anybody tbh

I heard they have terrible road noise also, grip level is decent in the dry but terrible in the wet.
