looks like Ryanair will be forced to reduce their stake in aerlingus from just under 30% to 5% after the ruling by the uk competition authority this morning after months of investigation. As expected Ryanair and o,leary are not pleased to say the least and have said they will appeal the decision. appeal the may but I think this is the final nail in ryanairs coffin and o,learys obsession with buying aerlingus will come to nothing. from a personal point of view I have to say I delighted with this decision and would hate to see aerlingus in the clutches of this so called airline and its arrognant, obnoxious boss.

Instructing and getting FR to sell shares are two different animals. FR will drag this through the courts that could last years.

may well do but it seems the ukcc are hell bent on stopping Ryanair from ever taking over aerlingus and this is one battle o,leary and Ryanair are destined to lose. the real winners here are the consumers who will still have a choice who to fly with and not be forced to fly with Ryanair who lets face it would have had a monopoly in this country. competition can only be good in any walk of life and I think it is the right decision in my opinion.
