hey lads, can you help me out here..ive a peugeot 207 and the coolant reserve has completely emptied twice in recent weeks. and i have to keep refilling it to drive anywhere (short runs)..is this a sign that the head gasket is gone? or would there be a leak in the system somewhere? there no noticable leakage under the car anywhere. thanks

white smoke from your exhaust while driving would point towards a blown head gasket.

If your refilling with water also you might'nt see any leak because it evaporates with a hot engine.

It could just as well be a leaky radiator cap (€10).
Is there anything else happening? Smoke on startup/driving? Look under the oil filling cap, should be black with no white/yellow "gunk".

Afaik you need to fill the coolant and bleed the car in a certain way for it to fill the system properly.

If it were the HG you'd be likely to have water in your oil, or oil in your water. If neither of those is present then it's unlikely to be the HG. Could be a small leak anywhere in the coolant system, the water pump seal is a common one.
