BTEA Waiting Time?

Hey guys, I got offered a place in University and applied for Back To Education Allowance today.

I don't register in college until the 25th of September so I can't provide them with a registration letter until then unfortunately. I did provide them with a letter saying I had accepted my course, however.

I'm just wondering how long i can expect to wait until I hear back from the social welfare in regards to my application being approved/pre-approved.

    Thanks!

They do most of the applications in the next couple of weeks so you may get a letter soon to say you have it, but it won't be payed to you until you prove you are fully registered and can show you are in attendance. As you start at the end of Sept, they may process others before you.

I am in the exact same situation and I got 'provisonally approved' and they said they need me to give them a form that says I am registers, when I start and what year I am in.

I cannot register for another few weeks but can I assume that I have it and that I should go ahead and register.

I'm just asking as I don't want to register then get told that I cannot get it as I wont be able to afford to go to college then.

So does provisionally approved basically mean I got it but I just need confirmation from college?

Yeah you pretty much have it. They need proof from the college that you are going before they hand over the cash. As soon as the registration is done ask for a proof of registration/attendance clearly stating the start and finish date for the course. They'll probably have the payment starting from the first week of classes.
