Specialised Tricross Sport: Tyres?

My brother is away for a year or so and has given me his bike to use while he's away. I'm used to doing 25-40 km spins on my hybrid and took the Tricross out for a good spin yesterday, loved it - it felt very nippy compared to my own bike.

It has the stock 32 cm tyres on it and the guy in my LBS who serviced it yesterday suggested putting 25 or 28 mm tyres on it. I have 28 mm on my hybrid and I'm leaning towards this size after reading various other forums - has anyone changed their tyres on this bike? I won't be racing, just looking for a modest increase in road performance.

Edit: Can someone recommend a brand/model of tyre to go with, and I presume changing them would be straightforward without having to go to LBS (using youtube etc. ), and will an inner tube for a 32 mm tyre still fit a 28/25 mm tyre (I know very little about bikes)?

Yeah, just get the tyres and fit them yourself. Tubes prob ok for 28, but maybe not for 25. Just ask re tubes when getting the tyres, but new tubes are cheap anyway.

28mm schwalbe durano plus would be decent combination of grip, puncture resistance and durability.
Wouldn't go lower than 28 to be honest. Comfort is king!

The tubes will have a size on them, they are probably 25-32 , mine were anyway. The rims will take tyres as low as 23. I have conti gp 24s on mine.

I'm actually about to do the opposite and put the stock borough cx tyres back on mine for commuting in Dublin for the winter.
