    you could just let it lapse and get a full retest in a month, if the same amount of stuff it brought up, scrap it. At your budget, any car you buy will have to be tested on a yearly basis...

    Not sure about getting a Saab. I agree that they're deadly looking but given that they're no longer being produced I'd say finding parts or fixing them when somethng goes wrong will cost a fortune!

    have had bad expereinces with two citroens but then again I hate french cars!

    i've yet to hear anyone complain about an octavia.
