    Hi,

Just wondering if someone could recommend a hairdresser in Galway? I have thick short hair. I used to go to MRHC in Woodquay but both hairdressers that I used to go to there are no longer there.

Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated. Not looking for someone who will take a thinning scissors to it !!

    Thanks a mil,
    mkc

You're right not wanting a thinning scissors! .......apparently it frizzes the ends and the only way to fix that is to just cut off what was done. I cant remember exactly, .....I was working in a hairdressers as a receptionist for a tiny while, and I remember the boss telling one of the clients that came in about it....... sure you can easily find out on Google!

I rarely get my hair cut, .....I always have the problem of the bottom being thicker then the top, not much, but its annoying. But when I do get it cut, I get layers, to evenly distribute the hair. And no matter how much they need to cut, I always say, get all the split ends out. The most thats ever been taken off is an inch.

I posted a thread not so long along about looking for a cheap hairdresser in Galway....... everyone recommended the Hair Fairy in Liosban....... but I looked at the prices and shes 40 euro, and its too much hassle for me to get out there.
So I just went to Red Cats in eyre square shopping center. Its 45 there. I just strolled in and asked for an appointment, but got lucky, and was seen to there and then. I cant remember the hairdressers name, but she had short bleached and baby pink hair.... she was lovely to talk to! ended up giving her a tip so I rounded it up to 50!

She did a brilliant job on my hair,......instantly felt so much lighter and healthy. I think its like 2...3 weeks since, and my hair barely needs conditioner, where as before, I would stick huge handfuls in, at least two times!

If the short hair is a regret now, and you're afraid to get it cut and be further away from getting the length back......dont worry. I cut my hair short before, .....and it was honestly like the ejit hairdresser just cut the ponytail off with a dud knife and sent me on my way!
I haaaaaaated it!....felt like I was 6 years old again, minus the thick fringe!

I went to a proper hairdressers, and got it layered, made it look so much better!!!!

Again, your probably afraid of cutting the lenght..... but remember, layers grow out.....and thick hair is a sign of healthy hair....so your hair will grow out faster then some other kinds. Apparently, Mane & Tail shampoo and conditioner is great for growing hair, if you wana try that, but the hairdresser i worked for recommended Bay-rum ...thats how i wrote it on my hand haha, could be just 1 word.
And......you could just layer the top.....and leave the bottom.

And btw,............dont worry about looking like a 1990s housewife rocking the Mary Robinson......... my mother still has that hair....... its my worst nightmare haha........... But its never EVER once happened to me.

Get a good, decent, highly qualified hairdresser. You wear your hair every day...... so its worth it.
I'd totally recommend Red Cats :)
