Wedding band - trad/modern twist

    Hey,

We're having a small wedding (40ish) in a quite casual setting and looking for a band to suit this as well as our budget. Originally we thought we wanted a trad band (cause it's our kind of thing) but now we think that as a main band that may get boring after a while for guests and may be something to watch rather than to dance along to. So we're trying to find a band that does trad as well as maybe some covers with a trad twist perhaps... not into the typical wedding band and the music they do, also it wouldnt suit this type of wedding anyway. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks

Heya, thanks for that - can't find them though, there's lots of homebrew bands out there - do they go by a variation of homebrew by any chance?

dermot has a few other bands as well, quick phone call will let you know if he has one youre looking for and whether they'll travel.

also, call into local pubs that do music and ask them do any bands play there that are along the lines of what youre looking for. theyll more then likely be local bands so you should get them cheaper.

Thanks a mil for that, looks like a runner if they'll travel also other bands on there. We were just saying last night the same thing - about asking locally if a band who plays trad will do what we're after and as you said it'll also be much cheaper and no travel costs involved :)
