Grant AND fees questions...

Hi, I am really confused about the grant system. If you don't know if you are receiving the grant or not what do you do on registration day in your college (I'll be going to UL). Do you have to pay the fees? If so are you reembursed for them if you do receive the grant?

Also I am starting a new course after doing a year in a diff course but due to my circumstances I might be eligable for the grant, but does the grant cover the government tutition fees? If not is there any way I could get around that? I honestly cannot afford the fees like, the cost is huge and I live with my mother who is unemployed.

The college told me to fill out a form for to see if my fees would be covered by them but I'm just wondering if anyone has been in this situation before and if so how easy/hard was it to get the college to cover your fees?

The college will wait, that's if your provisionally approved by SUSI. Last year most colleges waited until Christmas once you could show them the e-mail that you are provisionally approved.

heard of stories of not being to access library or lockers, but I do not really believe them.

i'm in the same boat as you, it's quite awful but i think it'll be okay. I'm skrewed without the grant and continue to message the help desk of susi who always tell me that my grant is in the final processes of whatever. it's a nerve-wrecking time and I share your pein because it's hard to find accomidation, make plans etc without the comfort of the grant

Explain to registration that you are waiting on susi

It was so much easier to blame it on Them. It was bleakly depressing to think that They were Us. If it was Them, then nothing was anyone's fault. If it was us, what did that make Me? After all, I'm one of Us. I must be. I've certainly never thought of myself as one of Them. No one ever thinks of themselves as one of Them. We're always one of Us. It's Them that do the bad things.
