Yes they will accept you. But depending on the course, you may need maths as part of your fetac award. I am not sure if you do or not for the course you want to apply too.

Contact Sligo IT. Find out what their FETAC entry requirements are for the course you want and if there are any compulsory FETAC modules, then check that those modules are part of the PLC you will be doing.

From looking at the IT Sligo website. It appears as though you do need maths for entry to the BB in Marketing Level 7 course.
    On this webpage it says:
    http://itsligo.ie/student-hub/student-help/student-support-services/access-office/prospective-students/applicants-with-fetac-qualifications/
Most courses at IT Sligo have a set standard of mathematics as an entry requirement. This requirement can be met by one of the following:
■A pass in Leaving Certificate Mathematics (ordinary or higher level)
■Leaving Certificate Foundation Mathematics B2 or above for entry into courses in the Schools of Business and Science
■A pass in FETAC Level 5 Mathematics Module

Also after following the link below and doing a search for the course

"View here for the specific entry requirements for each of the courses on offer at IT Sligo based on FETAC qualifications."

    It returned these results:

    http://www2.cao.ie/fetac/fetac_search2.php (link doesn't work)
C20139 or 5N1833 or C20174 or C20175 or LCE Maths

These numbers above are codes for fetac mathematics modules. So unfortunately it looks like you do need maths for entry into the course. If your fetac award doesn't include mathematics you will need to look into re-sitting the leaving cert exam next year.

Hi. My son failed his LC maths last year so he was not offered any courses although he did have enough points for the marketing course he wanted to do in Tallaght IT. He did a PLC course but he also repeated his LC maths. He passed maths this year and was offered his first choice marketing course last week based on his points from last year and his maths result this year. Would you consider repeating LC maths this year and then using your points from last year to hopefully get the course you want next year?
