He puts a huge amount of effort into his shows, i'm guessin he does all the research himself and uses his vast knowledge of all things rock....imo he's wasted and unappreciated on nova.......;)

    Pat James changed my life.
When I was growing up in the 70's, it was all Abba and The Carpenters and such like.
I used to listen to Luxembourg on a transistor radio under my pillow at night. Then I found Radio Dublin. Pat played London Calling one night and I was blown away. First time I ever heard U2 was on the Pat James rock show.
The man is a genius of rock music. Fanning got to national arwaves (from ARD I think), I always thought it should have been Pat.
    Legend

I could identify with all that, including Radio Luxy on the transistor radio in bed!! Dave Fanning left Radio Dublin for Big D by the way and then Radio 2 (as it was called then). Pat was Dave's replacement on Radio Dublin.

Pat used to play demotapes of a very raw but exciting U2.
