Venues in Dublin for small civil ceramony

We are planning a small civil ceremony in Dublin city in the next year but are trying to keep the budget low. We looked at City Hall, but its 730 euro just for 90 mins, which is pretty steep.

We know we can get it done in the registry office, but we want to know all our options before deciding.

Can anyone advise some locations they are familiar with for a civil ceremony of about 50 people? We will be dining elsewhere so we are happy enough to just have the place for the ceremony, and potentially an hour afterwards for drinks but the drinks is not necessary.

Any recommendations that we can follow up on would be great.

    Thanks!

Haughton House in Dublin Zoo :D My dream venue but too small for my numbers :(

Thanks for that recommendation. i think thats about the same price as city hall.

Clarion will do a room for 200 quid for 2 hours which is the best so far, but the room is pretty spartan.

Something with a bit more atmosphere, even if slightly more expensive would be nicer.

    are you having a reception?
if you are ask the venue to hold the ceremony too.

No, we're not having the reception in the same place, we are going to a restaurant for some food, and then off to a pub for the rest of the night.

I agree completely agreethey are not bad at all! We just want to see if there's anything within our price range thats got a little more character.

At present though the registry office is looking like the best bet.

We had ours in Ardgillan castle in North county Dublin. We had 50 guests and it cost €400. It might be too far out for you though? What about a town hall or library? Worth asking? I know our town hall does weddings and it's €250.

I'd say you'll find it tricky to get a hotel/restaurant willing to offer a room for ceremony only without a hefty charge - they tend to want to keep ceremony rooms for couples having the reception there too.
