S and S question

I just have a quick question about the S & S scheme, or the S & M scheme as a couple of us in my place call it.
There are less than half of our staff do it so I was thinking of bowing out this year as well. Especially given that half my workmates will not be doing it while I'm supposed to do it for free under interim agreement.
So what I want to clarify is the pensionabililty of what I've done to date. If I don't sign up this year, will I lose the pensionability of what I have done up until now?
[I know that it would never be pensionable again if signed up to again but what about that which is done. I guess its just a coincidence that it might only have a month left in it anyway (and worth holding out for that long if it affects pensionability), I just dont want to do it anymore anyhow. In our place its painful in everyway and implemented in an unpleasant way. Ironically, I'll probably be doing more of it for free for the rest of our careers when people sell out to HR.] Rant over.

I'm completely open to correction but my guess is
Opt out now and for sure you are loosing out on pensionability of it
Opt in and it'd relate back to the proposals of HRA which to the best of my knowledge don't have anything firm on the issue - only that it is to be reported on/ sorted out
