Is there an airshow on today?

Hi folks, hearing from several people that there is an airshow in mountshannon today at 3pm.

However...

I am also hearing that it has been cancelled.

Doing a search has proved less than conclusive, so I am hoping that local expertise here may help.

If its on I'd love to go with my 5 yr old, but as I live on the other side of Clare I'd need to know by 2ish.

I don't think I'll drive over there on a whim.

Organisers of the Lough Derg Air Spectacle have said it will not take place this year due to the nesting White-tailed Sea Eagles and their new chicks, which have been attracting upwards of 1,000 spotters a week to Mountshannon.

Now that article was a month ago.

I would ring them to make sure, according to the below link their number is 061 926066. Their website hasn't been updated since last year. Discover Ireland say its today at 3pm.

Yes, that's what I've found out via a search - not great at keeping the public informed.

What a farce.

The person responsible for public relations of this event thoroughly deserves a good dressing down.

As you quite rightly pointed out mr G the tourism discover Ireland site is still showing the event as on.

During the gathering year you'd expect that they would've paid a bit more attention to the event publicity.
